Mineral Exploration Must Satisfy Public Needs
The planning and investment director of the Angola’s State-run diamond company, Endiama E.P, Alberto Fançony Thursday here considered decisive the exploration of other minerals to boost the economic development and satisfy collective necessities of the country.
Speaking to ANGOP, on the sidelines of the workshop on “challenges of the mining industry to support the sustainable development”, the director stressed the need to also mine iron, gold, marble, granite, uranium and platinum so as to empower the Angolan economy.
According to Alberto Fançony, the International Mining Fair (FIMA), occurring in the pavilions one and two of the facilities of Luanda’s International Fair (FIL), it is very important to boost mining of these mineral resources and use them essentially for the wellbeing of the Angolan population.
“I think that these FIMA editions are very important, as they allow different companies and entities to gather in forums to discuss and establish partnership for new businesses, so as to encourage the emerging of other activities apart from diamond production”, he said.
Alberto Fançony, who is also the technical co-ordinator for World Diamond ummit-Angola/2009, FIMA serves to unite various entities of the Angolan mining industry and create a business platform that benefits national economic growth.
The Mining Fair, which is being attends by over 130 firms with attractive jewellery creations, will end next June 22.
