India Hunting to Get Coal Mine Resources in Australian Coal Mines

St. Eugene Mining Corporation Ltd. announces that a $1.1 million drilling and exploration campaign is underway at the Amisk Gold Project, Saskatchewan, which includes 2,300 meters of diamond drilling (completed; assays pending) in an effort to expand the existing Amisk-Laural Gold Deposit, and to evaluate the bulk mining potential of the system.

The Amisk Gold Project is host to the advanced Amisk-Laurel Gold Deposit. It has never been evaluated from a bulk perspective, and it is among the largest land positions in the prolific Flin Flon mineral district (approx. 12,000 hectares located 20 kilometres from Flin Flon, MB). Read more

Starfield and Thanda Resources Go on Joint Hunt for Diamonds

Starfield Resources and Thanda Resources will combine forces to explore for diamonds at Starfield’s Ferguson Lake project in Nunavut, Canada.If resources are found, the companies will also develop the project.Under the agreement, Thanda will initially earn a 50percen participating stake in the joint venture by paying $6.5m towards cumulative exploration expenditure over a three-year period.

Thanda president Sheila Ogilvie-Harris said the company has already identified several targets and will start its initial drilling programme this month. Read more

South Africa’s heavy minerals industry stands favourably within the world market, producing just over 40% of the world’s zircon output, states a report released by the directorate of mineral economics, entitled ‘An overview of South Africa’s Zircon Industry and the Role of Black Economic-Empowerment (BEE)’.
