Shell taps drill ship for oil, gas project PDF

SHELL Philippines Exploration B.V. has contracted the drillship Frontier Phoenix to help develop its oil and gas project in offshore northeast Palawan, an area covered by Service Contract (SC) 60.

Still in Malaysia, Frontier Phoenix will move to the Philippines later this year, according to officials of Shell Philippines. The drillship is owned by Norway-based Frontier Drilling, an independent supplier of drilling and production services for the oil industry. Its business includes renting out conventional drillships, semi-submersibles and floating production, storage and offloading vessels.

SC 60 is a promising site for petroleum exploration identified in the Philippine Petroleum Resource Assessment Project Study conducted by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation and the Department of Energy. Read more

Caddo International, Inc. announces full ownership, rights, and assets to 60 new Oil wells. Caddo International has officially taken over 60 Oil well properties from Black Dragon Resources. Caddo’s Management moved fast and swiftly to get this acquisition consummated for its shareholders, rapid expansion and future growth.

The President of Black Dragon Resources announced today that the Company has agreed to cancel all of the preferred stock given to Caddo International Inc. for specific oil properties that the Company has not had the time to get to because of previous commitments. This includes 60 Oil well properties. The reason for this move is to help clean up the capital structure of Black Dragon Resources. The company looks to spend their resources on drilling new wells and maintaining what they can handle on the existing producing wells. Read more

California by allowing the first new oil drilling project

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is pushing legislation that he believes would raise $1.8 billion for cash-strapped California by allowing the first new oil drilling project off the state’s coast in 40 years.

The governor’s proposal would revive a project for the Santa Barbara coast that was rejected by the State Lands Commission in January. This latest fundraising suggestion comes on the heels of other money-making ideas that included selling state-owned properties such as San Quentin State Prison and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The governor’s legislation would give the Department of Finance – whose representative on the commission was the lone vote in support of the drilling project – authority to reconsider the proposal. Read more

Mining Company Announces Drilling to Start At Toboggan Project

New Jersey Mining Company announced today that it expects core drilling to start at its Toboggan project in mid-May. The Toboggan project is a gold exploration joint venture between New Jersey Mining Company and Newmont North America Exploration Limited (Newmont), a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation.
Drilling is planned to start at the Mineral Ridge prospect, where Newmont’s soil sampling program has identified a gold-in-soil anomaly about 200 meters wide by 700 meters long. The first drill hole is targeted to explore the northeastern part of the soil anomaly where soil sampling revealed a gold-in soil anomaly 73 meters wide with an average gold-in-soil content of 0.128 grams per tonne (gpt) gold. Rock samples from the area show signs of shearing or brecciation and silica-flooding. Read more

Releases Additional Information From Historical Drilling Results

Silver Falcon Mining, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SFMI) again released information from another historical report written in 1998. This recap on historical drilling results determined extremely high grade gold intercepts between the Poorman Mine’s north and south shafts.

Donald W. Tully, P. Engineer on April 14, 1998 recapped the drilling report as follows:

“The Drilling Program was done with a large rotary down-hole-hammer drilling machine which was capable of drilling both vertical and angle holes. Samples were taken at five foot intervals. Five angle holes, totaling 2,245 feet, were drilled in the Oro Fino area. Two angle holes, totaling 1,025 feet, were drilled in the Keystone/Illinois Central area. Read more
